What this action does #

First, connect Jev in Services. Then open Actions → + → Jev and choose Ask Jev.

Choose Every Jev endpoint to use the direct request editor. The Jev setup guide explains its question forms.

More about this action

Jev looks at the content and answers every question at once, each as a typed value: the chance a yes-or-no is yes, the option it picks with how sure it is, or where the content sits on your levels. Ask everything you might need in one request — extra questions cost almost nothing.

Inputs to fill in #

Open an input to choose its value. Keep a fixed value with Text, receive it from Shortcuts, ask when the action runs, or use an Earlier Step. Read how input sources work.

State

RequiredText or data

What Jev evaluates — text, or a record or a list from an earlier step, sent as it is.

Example value (replace with your own):
Can someone call me back about the invoice before Friday?

Model

RequiredText

Which Jev answers. jev-latest is the newest stable release; jev-preview may be newer. A version like jev-1.13.0 stays the same when a new one ships.

This input offers a picker for model from your connected account. You can also supply its value directly.

Default: jev-latest

Example value (replace with your own):
jev-latest

Questions

OptionalStructured data (JSON)

Every question, by an id you choose. Each has a type (noul for yes or no, choice to pick one, score to rate), instructions (the question), and criteria (what yes and no mean; the options; the levels, lowest first). The form fills this in for you.

Example value (replace with your own):
{"urgent": {"type": "noul", "instructions": "Does this ask for something today?"}}

What comes back #

In the action editor, open Output → Returned Value to choose fields for your shortcut. These are the response fields described by the app; a service may omit an optional field or return an empty list. JSON File contains the full response.

Returned fieldTypeMeaning
modelstringThe version that answered — jev-1.13.0.
answersobjectOne answer per question, under its id — q1, q2… from the form. A yes or no has noul (0 to 1, the chance it's yes). Pick one has choice, probabilities for every option and confidence. Rate has score (0 is the first level, and it can land between two), legend, probabilities and confidence.
usageobjectA group of named values.
usage.input_tokensintegerWhat the request is charged for.
usage.output_tokensintegerFree.

Run it from Shortcuts #

  1. Give the action a recognizable name and tap Save.
  2. In Apple Shortcuts, add Shortcutify’s Execute Action and select the saved action.
  3. Supply any Param or File slots you bound in the inputs, then run the shortcut.

If the result is unexpected, open Logs in Shortcutify, select the run, and inspect this step’s inputs and response.
